This proposal keeps a record of the process to keep the BSQ trading fee at 50% discount to BTC trading fee. It will remain open until we need to update BSQ trading fees again.

Last update was #345

Cycle 32

Parameters (see issue)

  • USD/BTC price: 36000
  • USD/BSQ price: 1.41
  • Current BSQ discount: 40.7%

It's necessary to update BSQ trading fee on Cycle 32.

New BSQ trading fees

A change parameter request for BSQ trading fees will be submitted to DAO voting:
New BSQ maker fee: 12.78 BSQ per BTC.
New BSQ taker fee: 89.44 BSQ per BTC.

There's no 15% cap to reduce BSQ trading fees; with this update, the discount target is 50% with a 15.6% reduction.
This would be the second time BSQ trading fees are reduced instead of increased.

I was just reviewing this proposal, and was confused for a moment on how the fees could be so large, i.e. 89 BSQ for a taker fee. I realized a few minutes later that this is the fee per 1 BTC. The only place that's mentioned (so far as I can see is the wiki). It might be worth being more explicit about that in these proposals in the future, so that the uninitiated (or the forgetful, like me) don't get confused about it so easily.

For example, instead of writing:

New BSQ taker fee: 89.44

just qualify it as

New BSQ taker fee: 89.44 per 1 BTC

@ripcurlx Can you update the filter with these new fee rates, per bisq-network/bisq#5826

BSQ trading fees are calculated using the new values proposed at #365.
BTC trading fees are increased to 1% (0.12% maker, 0.88% taker).
Discount target is 60% and should be adjusted back to exactly 60% every cycle if it's not within the 55-65% range.

Cycle 33

Parameters (see issue)

  • USD/BTC price: 38.600
  • USD/BSQ price: 1,18
  • Current BSQ discount: 57%

In this cycle there is no need to update the BSQ trading fees.
